Rachel’s Top Tip

When you paint out of the tin as we do, dried paint around the edge builds up. Not only do you pick up dried paint on the brush the next time you paint, the lid doesn’t fit back on tight enough which allows air in and the paint thickens.

Put a large elastic band around the tin and use this to scrape excess paint off the sides.

When you have finished, wipe the paint off the band before you take it off and gently tap the lid back on with a small soft mallet.
