Ten years ago an artist friend of mine introduced me to Colourman Paints® and I thank her every day! From opening the tins, the smell is amazing, to the first stir when the wonderful colours magically appear, these paints are at the centre of my life as a decoupage artist. They are simply brilliant to work with and because they dry so quickly the creative process is a joy. Easy to use, you can overpaint without colours bleeding. They also lend themselves to dry brush techniques and if you over paint dark green on to red, before varnishing and waxing with a coloured wax you can create the most amazing effect that has the feel of worn leather. Colourman has a terrific range of shades and can be used to paint and distress furniture. The finish is wonderful and given a satin varnish and clear wax the colours last for years and have that vintage feel that those of us who live in ancient houses are always striving to achieve.I cannot imagine how I could survive as an artist without this fabulous product. You simply must try it because it enables you to have fun with colour and achieve breath-taking results! Thankyou Colourman!

“I’ve been up-cycling furniture for several years now and I think I’ve used just about every paint on the market but I’m delighted to say I’ve found Colourman. What a delightful range of authentic colours, the range is superb. I’ve done everything from rag rolling to stipple effects and even a bit of crackling.  Its very easy to use and gives the best chalky finish you could ask for. Add a bit of wax or lacquer and you can completely change the effect. Fantastic, would recommend every time.”

“We have been painting furniture and creating the ‘shabby chic’ effect for over five years now and used to use a mainstream brand of paint. Now we have fully converted to Colourman and its range of paints and waxes. Beautiful restoration colours, very easy to use and the effects you can achieve are wonderful. We have spoken on several occasions to the girls in  the office who are friendly and helpful. Well done Colourman.”

“I specialise in Elizabethen wall painting and draw on the exquisite bold designs of the period for my fresco secco panels for interiors. Once painted I give them a cracked and distressed finish for a salvaged appearance of age and wear. For these panels I use Colourman Paints® because they are easy to distress and sand down unlike modern house paints which are full of plasticisers and too tough to work with creatively. I finish my panels with beeswax to seal the painting and give it a tactile lustre. This is the exciting part when Colourman paint works its magic by breathing and moving, revealing layers of paint beneath and mixing with the wax for an overall harmonious finish.”

“I would highly recommend using Colourman’s paints for their beautiful chalky quality. Having used these paints for the last 15 years for painting furniture it was the natural choice for when we started our vintage sign making business ‘Argent and Sable’. The paints are fabulous to apply, great for colour-matching (which I do all the time for clients logos etc), they are quick to dry and can be aged and distressed with beautiful results. With an application of Colourman’s waxes the colours really POP and take on another life. The paints are always sent quickly and efficiently and are great value for money.”
